Highlights from the Print Collection: The First Year - Prostate Cancer

Each month the Health and Education Resource Center highlights a title from the print collection.  This month's featured title is The First Year: Prostate Cancer.  As part of the "First Year" series, this book's format is unique.  It is divided into chapters for time period since diagnosis - by day for the first week, by week for the next three weeks, and by month for the next eleven months.  The chapters are short as well.  Many are only a few pages long.  The author even goes so far as to summarize each chapter in a single sentence.  All of this does not mean that the book lacks information.  On the contrary, it has over 250 pages, and its chapters cover topics ranging from treatment, to nutrition, to dealing with emotions.  There is also a glossary, a list of books for further reading, and a list of other resources at the back of the book.
